Aparaaditehas open culture platform

The size and diversity of the factory means that there are a lot of  suitable spaces for a wide variety of events, from large festivals to small, niche events. Aparaaditehas is often approached with venues requests related to exciting ideas for organizing various cultural events, but often these thoughts end up being drowned out by a lack of money or other resources. We are happy to see such ideas come to fruition and we find that Aparaaditehas can offer versatile support in this regard. We believe that such a platform will significantly enrich the cultural life of Tartu and provide an excellent performance or organizing experience for many people starting their creative journey and offer exciting and diverse viewing and listening opportunities to a very wide audience.

The open culture platform of Aparaaditehas is a public call, aimed primarily at young and emerging artists and cultural organizers, to create their own cultural event at Aparaaditehas, whether it is a one-off event (concert, party, sports event, festival, etc.), an exhibition/installation or a series of events (lecture series, performances, etc.). Based on the ideas received, a committee will make a selection, based on the diversity and quality of the program to be prepared.

The creative council for the sixth season of the open cultural platform consists of Erki Pruul, CEO of Aparaaditehas, Karmen Otu, program manager of Aparaaditehas, Stina Leek, cultural organizer and artist and leader of the Ajuokse art group, Stella Mõttus, program manager and producer of Kogo Gallery, designer and gallerist Jaanus Kaasik, and Janetta Lukk, program manager of Armastuse Saal.

The implementation of the project is supported by the Tartu City Government and Kultuuritehased OÜ.
