Aparaaditehas open culture platform 2022

The Open Culture Platform began its third edition in 2022. Exciting projects were received in both the first and second rounds, and many diverse ideas were implemented.

Events that took place in the first round of 2022:

• June 4, 2022, opening of Luisa Greta Vilo's solo exhibition "Nature Inside"  
  
• August 25-27, 2022, an interdisciplinary creative celebration titled "Essence/Festival"
  
• September 17, 2022, the first Debut Albums Day  was held at the Aparaatitehasa.
  

Events that took place in the 2nd round of 2022:

• October 22, 2022, SMETANA, combination of contemporary art and heavy music, took place in the Hall of Love.
  
• In November, the exhibition of theotypes by artists Ave Palm and Helle Ly Tomberg “Inside and outside and inside” opened as part of the Gallery Night vol. 7.
  
• The project has been postponed to autumn 2023! – In February 2023, the audience will be able to experience experimental musical by Ööamoöb and interactive traveling performance “trust me / I trust you: Ööamoöb is an alien”
  

LUISA GRETA VILO'S SOLO EXHIBITION "NATURE INSIDE "

Luisa is a young photo artist who was a 3rd year student at the Pallas Art School of Photography at the time of the exhibition. It was Luisa Greta Vilo's first solo exhibition, featuring works from 2020 to 2022. The photo exhibition "Nature Inside" invited viewers to take part in the dialogue between a woman and nature. In the artist's eyes, the various forms of nature resemble her experience of being a woman and growing up. The exhibition opened as part of the Night of Galleries vol. 5.

Aparaaditehas basement and Taskupark

A group of artists, full of defiance and determination, gathered in the university town for a common goal, spending a creative residency week together in the cool basement of the Aparaaditehas. At its culmination, music, art, food and drinks merged into a single flow that brought visitors an exciting cognitive experience through exhibitions, performances and presentations.


DEBUT ALBUMS DAY

Hall of Love and tARTu store

The first-ever Debut Albums Day was a meeting place for budding music groups, experienced musicians and other music lovers. During the day, there were meaningful seminars with music specialists and three music groups' debut album presentation concerts. The violin duo Leik, the indie band think twice and the Estonian Song Contest 2022 superfinalist Minimal Wind performed.

SMETANA

Hall of Love

SMETANA was a mix of contemporary art and heavy music. The aim of the project was to create a platform for young artists and musicians to present their works and views. During the evening, the moto erotica exhibition was opened and a meeting with the artist took place. Viewers were able to see Raahel and Kärdi's performance "Magus elu". Those interested could take part in a quiz and the evening ended with a live performance by the band Tankist.

EXHIBITION OF CYANOTYPES BY AVE PALMI AND HELLE LY TOMBERG "INSIDE AND OUTSIDE AND INSIDE"

White greenhouse

The cyanotype exhibition “Inside and Outside and Inside” told a story about the passage of time. Time passes when we do something, but also when we do nothing. In this exhibition, the artists combined two symbols of the passage of time - one man-made and the other natural. The white greenhouse located in the courtyard of the apparatus factory as an exhibition venue allowed the main idea of ​​the exhibition to be expanded with walls resembling glass windows - the works were exhibited in a way that allowed the works to be viewed both from the inside and outside (as if inside).
