EXHIBITION // Succumbing to Temptation, Aleksandrs Breže

 On Friday, 30 August at 18.00 we open Succumbing to Temptation, a solo exhibition by Latvian artist Aleksandrs Breže. The exhibition is organised in collaboration with LOOK! Gallery in Riga. Please join us, we will be open late!
For Aleksandrs Breže, environmental design and the functionality of the objects we surround ourselves with are the main sources of inspiration. Breže enlivens pieces of furniture and interior elements by playing with associations and blending boundaries between traditional and futuristic aesthetics. Through abstract spatial installations, he explores the clash between written laws, religious values and the harsh reality of institutional control. His art delves into the struggle for individuality amidst enforced conformity.
The opening event is part of Gallery Night and Aparaaditehas Festival programme, and we also invite you to visit Kogo's new sales room in Aparaaditehas on the same evening, 30 August, from 19.00 to 23.00. Come from Kastani Street, door 3, II floor and to the right.
