NÄITUS // Upupæpop näitus "WONDERBUCH" // Upupæpop exhibition "WONDERBUCH"

“Tšehhi maal oli kord traditsioon, et kui käsitöömeister õppis oma ametit, alustas ta pikka rännakut, nn "vandr" (saksa keelest Wander - matk). Sellel teekonnal omandas ta kogemusi erinevate meistrite käe all ja dokumenteeris kõik üles oma "Wanderbuch" märkmikusse.

Ka meie tulime TYPA-sse kogemuste saamiseks. Saame võimaluse tutvuda uue riigi, uute inimeste, uute sõprade, uue keskkonna, uute trükimasinate, uue esteetika ja disaini, uute asjadega. Ja me jätkuvalt avastame.

Seetõttu otsustasime oma residentuuri ajal luua kunstiraamatute seeria, mille nimetasime WONDERBUCH-iks, kus meie kogemused peegelduvad visuaalses keeles.
Koos raamatutega lõime mitmeid graafikatöid, mille juures töötasime läbi kihtide, ornamentide, värvide ja kombinatsioonide.

See on seiklus, nagu meie reis.”

 WONDERBUCH on TYPA külaliskunstnike duo Upupæpop stuudio näitus, mille loojateks on Tšehhi kunstnikud Eva Horská ja Jakub Horský.
 Näitus avatakse 27. aprillil kell 18:00 Aparaaditehase rõdugaleriis (Kastani 42, Tartu).
 Näituse külastamine on tasuta, rõdugalerii on avatud K-P 12-18.
 Upupæpop stuudio on spetsialiseerub graafilisele disainile, raamatukujundusele, illustratsioonidele, tüpograafiale ja muudele kujundusvormidele. Alates stuudio asutamisest 2014. aastal, on nad teinud koostööd suurte festivalide ja kultuuriüritustega. Nende portfoolio sisaldab laia valikut raamatute, kataloogide ja muusikaalbumite graafilisi kohandusi eri žanrites autoritele ja kirjastajatele.

 "In the Czech land, there was once a tradition that when a craftsman learned his trade, he set off on a long journey, the so-called "vandr" (from the German Wander - hike). During this trip he gained experience with various masters and recorded everything in his notebook called "Wanderbuch".

We also came to TYPA for experience. We get to know a new country, new people, new friends, new environment, new printing machines, new aesthetics and design, new things. And we are still wondering.

We therefore decided to create a series of artist's books during our residency, which we called WONDERBUCH, in which we reflect our experiences in a visual language.
Together with the books, a number of graphics were created in which we work our way through layers, ornaments, colors and combinations.

It is an adventure just like our journey."
 WONDERBUCH is an exhibition by TYPA guest artist duo Upupæpop studio, led by Czech visual artists Eva Horská and Jakub Horský.
 The exhibition opening takes place on the 27th of April at 6pm in Aparaaditehas Balcony Gallery (Kastani 42, Tartu).
 Visiting the exhibition is free, the balcony gallery is open from Wednesday - Sunday from 12pm to 6pm.
 Upupæpop studio specializes in graphic and book design, illustration, typography and various other forms of design. Since the founding of the studio in 2014, they've collaborated with large festivals and cultural events, as well as small implementations for pleasure. Their portfolio combines a wide range of graphic adaptations of books, catalogs, and music album covers for authors and publishers across various genres.
