Näitus // Sanna Larmola "Jalutuskäigul" / "Daywalking"

Sanna Larmola:
Mul on olnud eelis elada mitmel maal ja kultuuris, mitte turistina, vaid jagades igapäevast argikogemust kohalikega.

Mingist hetkest selline pidev liikumine vaid edasi, naasmata tagasi stardiväljale, hakkas tekitama ärevust: kas olen iseend kaotamas, pilti sellest, kes ma olen? Oma fotode kaudu sain siiski aru, et mistahes maal ja kultuuris juhivad inimesi ikkagi samad tunded, nad vajavad sööki, eluaset ja on osa ümbritsevast ühiskonnast. Palju teisi inimesi, mina üks nende hulgast. See avastus tegi mind tugevamaks, ja aitas ka mõista, kes ma olen, kust tulen, millega tegelen.
Siin mõned hetked ajas ja ruumis. Nende piltide kaudu soovin teile kõike head. Lõpeks ei ole me ju kuigi erilised, oleme vaid ju kestahes ja kustahes.

I have had the privilege to live in several countries and cultures, not as a tourist but sharing everyday experiences with the locals.

One day I got slightly worried about this continuous moving forward, and never turning back: would I lose myself and the certainty of who I am? Through my photos, I found the answer, that whichever country or culture we are in, the people still experience the same feelings, and have the common needs of food, shelter, and existence within the society. Everywhere I was one of the many. Understanding this made me stronger and helped me to fathom who I am, where am I coming from, and what am I doing?

Pictured here are some moments in time, and along with them, I wish thee well! We are not so different in the end, whoever we are and wherever we go.

“Daywalking” is part of a larger photo exhibition and its catalogue to be released in 2022.
