Kohtumine kunstnikuga / Meet the artist : Jaakko Autio
Kogo käesolev näitus "Avanev ja sulguv“ on avatud veel viimaseid päevi. Kui Sul pole veel olnud mahti näitust külastada, tule külla laupäeval, 5.11 kell 16, kui on võimalus kohtuda ka näitusel osaleva helikunstniku Jaakko Autioga.
Jaakko räägib selle näituse jaoks loodud teosest „Piiril (II peatükk)“, mil moel seostub see heliinstallatsioon meid ümbritseva maailmaga, kuidas ta mõtestab näituse pealkirja „Avanev ja sulguv“, mis on üldse helikunst. Jaakko ootab suurima rõõmuga külaliste küsimusi.
Vestlus toimub inglise keeles. Sündmus kestab orienteeruvalt tund aega.

„Piiril (II peatükk) / Rajalla / На границе“ Kogo galeriis näitusel „Avanev ja sulguv“, 2022.
Narvas residentuuris viibides salvestas Jaakko Autio Eesti hümni (ühtlasi ka Soome hümn, pealkirjaga „Maamme laulu“) kohalike kooride ja ühe Soome koori esituses. Autio teoses on lauljate eraldi salvestatud hääled toodud kokku mitmekanalilises installatsioonis. Lauljate hääled põimuvad ja segunevad, sõnad ja meloodia muutuvad näitusesaalis äratundmatuseni. Teos loob ruumi, kus esiplaanile kerkib taju paljusus ning üheskoos on kohal mitu eri aega.
Kogeme olevikku mitmetahulise ja määratlematuna.
Teose loomisesse panustas enam kui 60 inimest, neist 40 olid koorilauljad Narva muusikakooli tütarlastekoorist (EE), Narva eesti keele maja tandemkoorist (EE), Narva muuseumi folkansamblist Suprjadki (EE) ja kooris Nomad Vocals (FI). Teose helilooja on Jussi Mattila (originaal Fredrik Paciuse „Mu Isamaa / Maamme laulu“, 1847).

Jaakko talks about his work On the Border (Chapter II) which he created for this exhibition, how this sound installation relates to the world around us, how he interprets the exhibition title Unfolding and Refolding and what is sound art at all.
Jaakko very much looks forward to the questions from the guests.

On the Border (Chapter II) / Rajalla / На границе at Kogo Gallery in exhibition Unfolding and Refolding, 2022
During his residency in Narva, Estonia, Jaakko Autio recorded local choirs and one Finnish choir singing the Estonian national anthem Mu isamaa, mu õnn ja rõõm (also the national anthem of Finland, where it is titled Maamme laulu). In Autio’s work, the singers’ voices, recorded individually, come together in a multichannel installation. Through the playing of the recordings, where each singers’ voice mixes and mingles, the lyrics and melody become indecipherable in the space. The work creates a space in which the multiplicity of perception is foregrounded, and different temporalities are present all at once. Our experience of the present becomes manifold and resists definition.
More than 60 people contributed in the creation of this artwork, 40 of them choir singers from Narva music school girls’ choir (EE), Narva Estonian language house Tandem choir (EE), Narva museum folk ensemble Suprjadki (EE) and Nomad Vocals Choir (FI). The music is composed by Jussi Mattila (Original Maamme lau-lu/Mu Isamaa by Fredrik Pacius, 1847).
