NÄITUS // Liis Ring "käes/olev" kunstnikuvestlus
Kutsume teid 20.01.2024 kell 12.00 Rõdugaleriisse Liis Ringi kunstnikuvestlusele, kus Liis avab oma näituse “käes/olev” tehnikate ning sisu tagamaid. Näitus sündis 3-kuuse TYPAs toimunud residentuuri tulemusena.
“käes/olev” on näitus ühest tervenemisprotsessist ja millegi taasleidmisest läbi kohalolu praktiseerimise. ta on nii lepitus, lüngatäide kui ka sild mineviku ning oleviku, ideaalkujutluste ja tegelikkuse vahel.

Liis Ring defineerib end kui muusik, (heli)kunstnik, fotograaf, vaatleja ja rändaja, kes jagab oma elu Rootsi lääneranniku ja Eesti kagunurga vahel. Tema tööd on tihti kohaspetsiifilised ning uurivad aja, paiga, keele, kuuluvuse ja koduga seotud tundeid ja küsimusi. Tema teosed, sõltumata meediumist, toetuvad enamasti erinevatele analoogtehnikatele, kus oluline osa on materjali ja motiivi, tänase ja olnu dialoogil.

We invite you to Liis Ring's artist talk on 20.01.2024 at 12PM in the Balcony gallery, where Liis will open up about the techniques and story behind her exhibition. The exhibition is a result of a 3-month residency at TYPA.
“the tangible present” is an exhibition about a healing process and a restoration through the practice of being present. it is both an atonement, a gapfiller and a bridge between the past and the present, utopia and reality.

Liis Ring defines herself as a musician, (sound) artist, photographer, observer and wanderer who divides her life between the west coast of Sweden and southeast corner of Estonia. Her works are often site-specific, questioning notions of time, place, language, belonging and home. Her works, no matter the medium, often rely on different analogue techniques, with an emphasis on the relations between material and motif, the present and the past.
The talk will happen on 20.01.24 at 12PM in Balcony Gallery.
